Santhanam's last big appearance was in the recently-released Dikkiloona, which received a mixed response from fans and critics, with the comedian turned hero currently attached to a number of upcoming projects. Santa, as he is lovingly called by fans, will next be seen in the much-awaited Sabhaapathy, which has now been officially confirmed for a worldwide theatrical release on November 19. Directed by debutant R Srinivasa Rao under producer C Ramesh Kumar's RK Entertainment banner, an interesting, fun and quirky motion poster for Sabhaapathy was released on Friday carrying the film's theatrical release date.

The Sabhaapathy motion poster shows the problems faced by Santhanam's character in the film, which predominantly seems to be revolving around issues like employment, relationships and the pressures of the society. Although the latest glimpse shows Santhanam to be your boy-next-door personality, his appearance as a typical middle-class Tamil youth will be relatable to many and the film looks to be appealing to family audiences as well. Promotions for Sabhaapathy commenced a few days back after the team released the film's first single track titled 'Mayakkathe Maaya Kanna' featured on Santhanam and Preeti Verma, who plays the female lead.

Sabhaapathy also has an ensemble cast and will see veteran actor MS Bhaskar as Santhanam's father and their relationship in the film is expected to be a pivotal plot point. Likewise, Pugazh, who became a huge sensation after his stint on Vijay TV's Cooku with Comali, will be seen playing Santhanam's sidekick/best friend in this film and their chemistry is expected to be a major USP. Sabhaapathy also has a talented technical team on board, with the music composed by Sam C. S., followed by Baskar Arumugam handling the cinematography, Leo John Paul taking care of the editing and art direction by AR Mohan.
