Ajith Kumar's upcoming film which had been known as 'AK 61' for a long time has finally got a title. The first look poster was released by the makers earlier today (September21) thereby finally putting an end to the wait of movie buffs. AK 61 has been titled Thunivu and Ajith's swagger first look poster proves that it was definitely worth the wait. The makers have released the much awaited poster of Ajith to light up the celebration of fans. He is spotted resting on a chair holding a gun. But the makers haev not confirmed the film's release date yet.

Now, actor Samuthirakani has stepped forward that he will be starring in the film, confirming his inclusion in it in the process. He took to his official Twitter handle and shared this latest update with a caption, "Thunivu..💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪 Let's win…..". He shared the film's poster along with an image of him posing with the star actor. Check it out: 

The shooting for the film is still going on and the next schedule of shooting will take place abroad. An intense action sequence involving bikes have been planned to be shot during the schedule abroad. The entire filming is expected to be completed by November as the film is reported to be released in early 2023. 

Thunivu is touted to be a heist thriller and is said to be about a bank robbery that is inspired by a real-life incident. Aside from Ajith, the film also has Maju Warrier playing the female lead. It is noteworthy to mention that Manju had earlier joined Ajith and his band of friends on their bike trip to Ladakh. Various pictures and videos from the trip took social media by storm. 

This is director H Vinoth’s third collaboration with Ajith after Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai. It has been produced by Zee Studios in association with Boney Kapoor under the banner of Bayview Projects LLP. Its music has been scored by Ghibran. Ajith was last seen in Valimai, has a film with director Vignesh Shivan in the pipeline.
