Based on Kalidasa's epic Sanskrit play Abhijnana Shakuntalam, Shaakuntalam jointly produced by Dil Raju Productions in association with Neelima Guna under the Gunaa Teamworks banner and featuring music by Mani Sharma, will reportedly revolve around the mythological tale of King Dushyanta and Shakuntala, the daughter of sage Vishwamitra and Apsara Menaka, with Samantha in the titular role. Malayalam actor Dev Mohan will be portraying Dushyanta, while Allu Arjun’s daughter Arha will be making her acting debut in the film as Prince Bharata.
