S.S. Chakravarthy is a well-known producer of the Tamil film Industry who has made many hit films featuring leading actors under his banner NIC Arts. The producer passed away due to a long-term illness on Saturday, 29th April. The last rites of the actor is scheduled to be held in Chennai. Reports have stated that he has died after a long battle with cancer. He has been making films from 1997 to 2015 and has worked mainly with Ajith Kumar and Silambarasan TR. He also acted recently in an important role in the recent hit web series Vilangu.
The producer S.S. Chakravarthy launched his production house with the film Raasi which featured Ajith. He bankrolled many hit films including Vaali, Mugavaree, Citizen, Red, Villain, etc and has introduced some leading directors like S.J.Suryah, R. Pannerselvam, V.Z. Durai, etc. He then produced the film Kadhal Sadu Kudu featuring Vikram and then did many films featuring Ajaneya, Ji and Varalaru which got critical acclaim They also made the film Kaalai and Vaalu with Silambarasan TR as lead. The producer also introduced his son Jonny also known as Imran Chakravarthy in the film Renigunta which was released in 2009 and made 18 Vayasu with the same team.
Late S.S. Chakravarthy recently did an important role as DSP Vaidhyanathan in the web series Vilangu that has Vemal as a lead. Condolences have poured in for the talented actor. Actro Kayal Devraj, who has acted in supporting roles in many films including Sandakozhi 2, Seeru and Thaen, shared a photo of the product and paid his condolence.

Director Aravindh Srinivasan who made the recent film Dejuvu featuring Arulnithi has expressed his paid tributes saying "he was the producer who gave chance to the directors like S.J. Suryah, AR Murugadoss, Panneerselvan, etc."
Producer SS Chakkaravarthy died of cancer this morning. His banner Nic Arts was elevated Ajith sir’s career to stardom with back to back hits. Varalaru (Godfather) is his last association with Ajith sir.
