Tamil actor Mansoor Ali Khan has come under fire over the derogatory comments he made last week about his Leo co-star Trisha Krishnan. With the actor's statements causing a stir, the Nadigar Sangam (The South Indian Artistes Association) issued a press release condemning his words, with the National Commission for Women also directing the Tamil Nadu police to invoke IPC Section 509 B and other relevant laws against him. In that light, Mansoor Ali Khan addressed the media on Tuesday, November 21, and responded to the reactions to his comments, while also informing that the Nadigar Sangam had not conducted a proper inquiry into the issue.

Mansoor Ali Khan said, "The Nadigar Sangam has made a big mistake. I'm trying to stay patient. If I rise, it will create huge problems. They didn't give me an opportunity to explain my stance in regard to what I spoke about Trisha. Is this the way to address an issue? I'm giving four hours' time to the Nadigar Sangam to take back their press release against me. What justice is this? An association like Nadigar Sangam should first inquire what the issue is instead of arriving at a conclusion. I would have given my explanation. They should have conducted an inquiry and then given a statement. I'm happy that this news has been spreading like wildfire everywhere. I have seen my photos in the newspapers as well. They could have put up a better picture instead. Why must I apologize?"

Addressing his comments about rape scenes, Mansoor Ali Khan said, "I want to ask you all a question - do you think rape scenes in films are real? If a hero kills someone in cinema, does it mean he killed for real? Don't you people know about this? Don't the people in the Nadigar Sangam need to think about this? In cinema, how is a rape scene shot? Meera Jasmine was introduced in a film I was a part of. I had to take and toss her on a bed. I saw that she got hurt and called my assistant to provide her with immediate help. A cloth was then given to cover herself and I apologized to her. This is how these scenes are shot. The people of Tamil Nadu are on my side. All these gimmicks don't scare me."
