Actors Vijay Antony, Harish Kalyan, Aruldoss, and few others have agreed to reduce their salaries to help the film producers who are badly affected by the nationwide lockdown, due to the outbreak of Coronavirus. Following that, actor Mahat Raghavendra has now come up with an announcement stating that he agrees to reduce his salary, as per the demand of the producer. Talking in a video, Mahat said, “In today’s situation, all the daily wage workers in the industry have been badly affected and their daily livelihood has become a question mark.

Similarly, the producers who pay us are also affected by this lockdown. To help them, actors like Vijay Antony, Harish Kalyan, and few others have agreed to reduce their salaries and it is a welcoming gesture. Following them, I would also like to inform that I’m ready to adjust my salary as per the producer’s request. I am ready to reduce my salary by 20%, 50% or even 70%, depending on the request by the producer. It is important that we all stand together in this testing time and keep the industry functioning.

I am sure many other budding actors like me would be ready to reduce their salaries as it is the need of the hour. My sole intention is to entertain the audience and make them happy.” Well, this gesture from Mahat is receiving a positive response among the industry insiders and it is great to see many actors coming forward to reduce their salaries to help the producers. Mahat, who made an impressive debut with Thala Ajith’s Mankatha, has acted in notable biggies like Jilla, Chennai 600028 Second Innings, Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven, etc.

He rose to fame and gained huge popularity through his participation in the second season of Bigg Boss. Mahat is currently acting in two films, Kettavanu Per Edutha Nallavanda and Ivan Than Uthaman, and he would be seen playing the lead role in both the films.
