'Thalapathy' Vijay's Leo is rewriting records in Tamil cinema as it continues to maintain its supremacy at the United Kingdom (UK) box office. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and featuring music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, the mass-action drama has now created a new record in the UK with a £1.24M opening weekend. The film's UK distributor shared the news on Monday, October 23, on X, along with a new poster, writing, "Talk of the town: #LEO has set the bar high in the UK with a RECORD £1.24M opening weekend. The highest for any Tamil film. Thalapathy Vijay is just built different! 💣💣💣💣" (sic)

This latest box office feat by Vijay's Leo also makes it the highest for any Tamil venture to date in the UK and will no doubt come as big news for the film's team and fans of the superstar to kick off the celebrations. In the first two days, the film raked in £821.2K at the UK box office setting the stage for the highest-grossing opening weekend after taking a grand start on opening day with £571.5K making it an all-time record for an Indian film. Leo's dominance at the UK box office is expected to continue in the days ahead as fans have been thronging cinema halls, with many going in for repeat viewings to witness Vijay in action.

'Thalapathy' Vijay's Leo has already crossed 400 crores in worldwide collections in its first four days, according to estimates released earlier today by the global film box office revenue tracking system Comscore. The film's monstrous box office run is expected to carry forward as the demand for tickets continues to be high. Vijay's Leo also stars Trisha as the female lead and is their big-screen reunion after 15 years, while Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Mysskin, and Sandy master are cast in negative roles, with Gautham Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, Priya Anand, Mathew Thomas, among others also making appearances.
