Actor turned politician Kamal Haasan celebrated his 65th birthday earlier this month with a special honorary event organized in Chennai recently amidst much fanfare which saw reputed names from cinema gather at the event. The four-time National Award-winning actor had also celebrated sixty years in cinema in August after making his debut as a child artiste in 1959 in the Gemini Ganesan and Savitri starrer, Kalathur Kannamma. Having made his political entry last year, his Makkal Needhi Maiam party contested in the 17th Lok Sabha General Elections this year and ended up with a good showing. That said, Kamal Haasan will be undergoing surgery tomorrow (22.11.2019) to remove an implant after he met with an unfortunate accident in a compound fracture on his right leg in July 2016. It is said the surgery will be taking place as Kamal Haasan has been postponing all this time owing to his busy schedule and will be taking a break for the next few weeks. On the professional front, Kamal is at present working on the magnum opus, Indian 2, under Shankar’s direction being produced by Lyca Productions with music by Anirudh Ravichander. Apart from Indian 2, it was also announced not long back that Kamal Haasan will be kickstarting work on his Thalaivan Irukkindran, which also includes music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman.
