The Vetrimaaran and Dhanush combo went on to taste massive success yet again in their fourth association with their action drama film, Asuran, which came out in theatres worldwide this October. The director-actor duo had previously worked together in 2007 in the blockbuster, Pollathavan, and followed it up with Aadukalam in 2011 and then teamed up last year once again for Vada Chennai, which as well went on to become a smash success.
Having won the National Awards for Best Direction and Best Actor in 2011 for their film, Aadukalam, both Vetrimaaran and Dhanush are now rejoicing after the massive commercial and critical success of their Asuran, which was produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu’s V Creations and featured chart-buster music by G. V. Prakash Kumar. Among the several notable big aspects in Asuran, the film is an adaptation of acclaimed Tamil writer, Poomani’s Vekkai novel, which was first published in 1982. That said, the world-renowned E-commerce company, Amazon, has now announced that Vekkai written by Poomani is the most sold among the Indian E-books in the year 2019. Check out the announcement below:
The spike in sales for Poomani's Vekkai can no doubt be attributed to Vetrimaaran and Dhanush's adaptation of the book into Asuran. The film also includes Manju Warrier who plays the role of the female lead followed by Pasupathi, Teejay, Ken Karunas, Balaji Sakthivel, Ammu Abhirami, Prakash Raj, Pawan, A. Venkatesh among other in supporting roles.
