"Have some respect and dignity": Darbar actress issues statement

‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth’s Pongal 2020 release, Darbar, under the Lyca Productions banner marks his first-time collaboration with blockbuster director A. R. Murugadoss. Composer Anirudh Ravichander is scoring music for a Rajinikanth film for the second time after delivering chart-buster tunes in Petta earlier this year. Apart from Rajinikanth, who plays a top Mumbai police officer named Aaditya Arunasalam, Darbar will see him paired opposite Nayanthara while popular Malayalam actress Nivetha Thomas has been cast as his daughter. Nivetha, who had prior to the release of the Darbar motion poster revealed that she indeed is playing Rajinikanth’s daughter in the film, had engaged in a chat session with fans on Instagram, after which she had a few words of advice where she goes on to say, “I had a great time answering some of the fun questions while I avoided questions like 'Marriage when', 'Say one word about..', 'Have boyfriends', 'Will you marry me', 'virgin?' and a few/more bizarre ones. Prior to Darbar, Nivetha was seen alongside ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay in Kuruvi and Jilla and in Kamal Haasan’s Papanasam and, will next be seen in upcoming Telugu films starting with V opposite Nani announced to be an Ugadi 2020 release followed by Swaasa opposite Nithiin. Although known to be a Malayalam actress, Nivetha Thomas’ stronghold is in Telugu films and Rajinikanth’s Darbar in Tamil will no doubt be the biggest role in her career till date. Speaking about working with ‘Thalaivar’, Nivetha responded saying it will be an experience she is going to cherish forever.
