Tamil actor 'Cool' Suresh, who is known for his film promotions, forcefully garlanded popular anchor Aishwarya Raghupathi during the audio and trailer launch event of the upcoming film, Sarakku. The incident has led to a severe backlash, with many people on social media calling out the actor's actions. Speaking at the event, 'Cool' Suresh took everyone by surprise by forcing the garland on the film's event host, who was standing beside him, and looked visibly upset after the incident. In his explanation, the actor claimed that it was an act of appreciation, but issued an unconditional apology shortly after veteran star Mansoor Ali Khan stepped in.
At the Sarakku audio launch, 'Cool' Suresh was seen wearing a garland, while also holding one himself when he proceeded to put it over the hostess Aishwarya Raghupathi, who was left visibly angry and disturbed. Several journalists also expressed their discontent with the actor's behavior and went on to question him. Mansoor Ali Khan too questioned 'Cool' Suresh's behavior and shared that he also was taken aback by the incident while expressing his shock at the turn of events. He himself then offered an apology on the actor's behalf, while insisting he do the same.
Many people on social media have pointed out the importance of maintaining boundaries and showing respect for fellow professionals during public appearances, and have also called out the people who clapped at 'Cool' Suresh's actions. 'Cool' Suresh made appearances in films Kadhal Azhivathillai, Kaakha Kaakha, and Thiruda Thirudi to name a notable few, but shot to fame for his promotions of the Silambarasan TR-starrer, Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu (2022).
