Sanam Shetty has turned out to be one of the most loved personalities on social media after her Bigg Boss stint. Despite acting in several movies before, Sanam did not get her breakthrough in her film career and after bagging an opportunity to be a part of Bigg Boss, life definitely changed for her. The young talent managed to impress the masses with her honest and individual gameplay and her eviction created a sensational buzz on social media. Let us hope that the massive success of Bigg Boss helps in Sanam’s acting career. On that note, Sanam is all geared up for the release of her new Tamil web series which is titled Kuruthi Kalam. Kuruthi Kalam is scheduled to release on January 22, coming Friday, on the MX Player streaming platform.

MX Player platform rose to fame among the Tamil audience with Gautham Vasudev Menon's web series, Queen, which starred Ramya Krishnan in the lead role. One of the interesting aspects of MX Player is that you can stream their contents free of cost, unlike other platforms that have subscription plans. Talking about Kuruthi Kalam, this web series revolves around two rival gangs having a history in Chennai. Kuruthi Kalam features Santhosh Prathap (Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam and Oh My Kadavule fame), Sanam Shetty, Vincent Ashokan, Ashok Kumar, and Soundara Raja in the lead roles.

The series' synopsis, as stated by the makers, reads, "An upright youngster, Vijay (Santhosh Prathap), is pulled into their never-ending power play and has to give up his hopes of becoming a police officer when he resorts to violence. As he rises in stature, his enemies also loom large, from his cold-blooded nemesis, Kumar (Ashok Kumar), to his once-best-friend, Sub Inspector Arun (Soundara Raja). The trailer of the series has been released and it looks quite intriguing. The makers have managed to create curiosity with this teaser and it shows good promise. The trailer has enough action moments and it looks like Kuruthi Kalam will have high quotients of stunts.

Apart from action, there seems to be an interesting friendship angle that is also seen in the trailer. Kuruthi Kalam is directed by Danush and Rajapandi. All the episodes of Kuruthi Kalam will stream on MX Player from January 22. For now, check out the newly released trailer of the series here:
