Baba is a film that will always stay special for Superstar Rajinikanth and his ardent fans across the world. The film's story and screenplay was penned by Rajinikanth himself, while Suresh Krissna directed the film. A.R.Rahman composed the music for this film which featured Manisha Koirala as the female lead. Close to 20 years after the film's release, an interesting revelation has been made and it has taken the fans by surprise. Yes! Actress Kiran Rathod, who is known for acting in movies like Anbe Sivam and Villain, was initially signed to play the female lead of Baba. However, the actress had to opt out of the project at the last minute, due to her other commitments.

Kiran shared this news on her official Instagram page and it has grabbed the attention of the netizens. Sharing the clipping of the 'Kichchu Tha' video song featuring Rajinikanth and Manisha Koirala, Kiran Rathod wrote, "rajini posting as been listening to this song for last 6 hours .. may be coz i missed working with sir .on this film . as I had signed Gemini ... still i would say no one can touch him as far as acting or dance .... #rajinikanth". This revelation has come as a pleasant surprise for a lot of people. While answering a fan, Kiran mentioned that she was shooting for Gemini in Switzerland and cited that as the reason for not being able to act in Baba.

It does seem like a costly miss for Kiran Rathod, but on the brighter side, she was a part of several other notable biggies like Villain, Anbe Sivam, Winner, New, and more. Kiran was last seen playing a supporting role in Sundar C's Muthina Kathirikai, directed by Venkat. The film opened to mixed reviews from the critics and fans.
