Popular Tamil television presenter and video jockey Manimegalai has been a household name across Tamil Nadu for more than a decade. Known for her witty one-liners and humor sense, she debuted on Sun TV as a VJ and soon charmed her way into the hearts of the young and the elderly alike and, has since also garnered a huge fan following on social media. Manimegalai, who fell in love with an assistant director named Hussain and tied the knot in 2017, also has her own YouTube channel where she frequently posts videos of their various fun adventures together. Having said that, Manimegalai and Hussain were in for a shock when a lorry scraped their Hyundai i20 car recently after the couple were returning back to Chennai from their weekend trip. 

In a video narrating the "incident about the accident", Manimegalai speaks about everything that had transpired and says that she and Hussain miraculously managed to avert a major accident, while also giving a first hand look at the damages her Hyundai i20 car had sustained. She also informs that she and a few others tried communicating with the lorry driver, who was from Andhra Pradesh and spoke only Telugu, while requesting followers to be careful whenever they're on the roads and the highways. Manimegalai further goes on to ponder over the incidents that have occured, especially in 2021, and states that the year hasn't been as positive as she might have hoped for. 

Manimegalai and Hussain had recently bought home a BMW car on the auspicious occasion of Vinayagar Chathurthi. Taking to Instagram, the popular television anchor posted a picture of her new acquisition with her husband and wrote, "Hussain Manimegalai ‘s Very Own BRAND NEW BMW X1. Our next achievement with our hard work." On the work front, Manimegalai who has hosted several television programmes and film events, made a transition from Sun TV to Vijay TV in 2019 and participated in the reality show Mr. and Mrs. Chinnathirai coming in as the 2nd runner-up. Currently the anchor of Mr. and Mrs. Chinnathirai’s third season, she has also participated in the fun-filled Vijay TV cooking reality show Cooku with Comali and remained as a Comali for the show's second season.
