One of the biggest and most successful franchises, Vin Diesel's Fast & Furious films have gone on to garner a reputation as well as huge fan following of their own across the world with the next venture, F9 or Fast & Furious 9, now being pushed back a year to April 2021 from its initial plan of being released in theatres on May 22 this year. The decision to postpone the film's release by nearly a year comes after the deadly coronavirus that has taken several lives across the world.

Having made nearly $5.8 billion in worldwide box office collections, the expectations for the upcoming F9 have been gigantic right from the moment the film went on floors with the decision to push by the film by a year will now leave fans across the globe disappointed considering an action-packed trailer released not long back skyrocketed the excitement. An official statement has been made regarding Fast & Furious 9's release postponement by the makers who have announced that the film will be hitting screens in North America on April 2, 2021 and across the world the same month. The ninth venture in the Fast & Furious franchise, F9, will see Vin Diesel reprising his role as Dominic Toretto alongside Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Charlize Theron, and Helen Mirren who are this time joining newcomers John Cena, Michael Rooker, and Cardi B. Although the film will not see Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson making an appearance, it was revealed in the F9 trailer released a while back that Sung Kang as Han Lue will be returning after his character was believed to have been killed in Fast & Furious 6. Produced jointly by Original Film and Vin Diesel's One Race Films and being distributed by Universal Pictures, F9 has been directed by Justin Lin, the man behind The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006), Fast & Furious (2009), Fast Five (2011) and Fast & Furious 6 (2013).
