Veteran Marathi actor Shrikant Moghe passed away on Saturday (March 6) afternoon at his residence in Pune. He was 91 years old when he breathed his last. According to reports, Shrikant Moghe was suffering from age related ailments and other health problems and he was under medical treatment for the same. Moghe was widely popular for his works in Hindi and Marathi language films and theatre plays. Shrikant Moghe is a legend not just in films, but also in the theatre play circuit and he is considered to be one of the icons in the theatre industry. He has travelled to several countries for his stage play dramas.

Shrikant Moghe's memorable works in Marathi cinema include Madhuchandra, Sinhaasan, Gammat Jammat, Umbaratha, Vasudev Balwant Phadke, and others. Some of his notable and famous stage plays in Marathi include Varyavarchi Varaat, Tuze Aahe Tujapashi and Lekure Udand Jali. Shrikant Moghe, who was born on November 6, 1929 at Kirloskarwadi, has a son named Shantanu Moghe who is also an actor. Shantanu Moghe is married to popular television serial actress Priya Marathe, who is known for her performance in the serial, Pavitra Rishta.

A few months before, Priya had stated that she got to spend good time with her father-in-law, Shrikant Moghe during the lockdown and cherished the beautiful memories.
