Sadak 2 is an upcoming Hindi film directed by Mahesh Bhatt and produced by Mukesh Bhatt under their banner Vishesh Films. The film is the sequel to the 1991 film Sadak. The sequel stars Sanjay Dutt, Pooja Bhatt, Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur. The film marks Mahesh Bhatt's return as a director after 20 years. The film is about Ravi's depression and how he helps a young woman's encounter with a godman, who is out to expose this fake guru running an ashram. Though this film has a huge expectation, the current trend looks like the fans are boycotting this film since it is directed by Mahesh Bhatt who a section of people think is responsible for the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. The trailer of Sadak 2 which was released last week opened to mixed reviews, and in fact, the dislikes are for it are much higher the likes and this has started another new controversy. Sadak 2 even become the world’s most disliked trailer with over 2 million dislikes. This harsh reception comes after the untimely death of Sushant Singh Rajput, which has created huge discussions and debates about nepotism and the influence of star kids. Sadak 2 has become the most disliked trailer in the world, overtaking the 2016 supernatural comedy film, Ghostbusters, which had 1.1 million dislikes. Meanwhile, the makers of Sadak 2 have released the first single Tum Se Hi composed by Ankit Tiwari who has also rendered his voice for the song along with Leena Bose while the lyrics are penned by Shabbir Ahmed for this song.

Just like the trailer, even this song has opened to negative response on YouTube with dislikes overtaking likes. The film will premiere on 28 August 2020 on Disney+ Hotstar. Sadak 2 is the fourth movie slated for release under Disney+ Hotstar Multiplex. The film was initially scheduled for release on 25 March 2020, but was pushed to 10 July 2020. It was again pulled from the release schedule as the shooting was delayed because of COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in India. where Alia Bhatt announced that the film would be released on Disney+ Hotstar exclusively, premiering on 28 August 2020. The film was announced on 20 September 2018 by Alia Bhatt on Twitter, where She revealed the details of the film.
