'Thalapathy' Vijay's Master has turned out to be one of the biggest box office blockbusters in the superstar's career and is continuing its successful theatrical run. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj under Xavier Britto's XB Film Creators and Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studios distributing the mass masala action entertainer, the film began streaming on Amazon Prime Video from January 29, with the leading streaming player releasing a never-before-seen Master deleted scene on Saturday on their OTT platform.

As known already, Master's run time in theatres and on Amazon Prime Video currently stands at 2 hours and 59 minutes (179 minutes) and it is interesting to think how much footage the makers had shot before zeroing in on the final output that is currently out now. This latest Master deleted scene primarily featured on Vijay and Gouri G. Kishan's characters and delves into the sexual harassment she endures at the hands of two fellow students. The scene was initially teased in the Master teaser, which shows a whole new dimension to the events that transpire in the narrative. Furthermore, the entire deleted scene was first also shown in text before the film begins playing when the XB Film Creators logo comes on screen. The scene when it was first revealed to have not featured in the final cut raised a lot of talk on social media considering it was on controversial lines. However, Amazon Prime releasing the scene in its full context has now come as a big delight for fans, with many already stating online that it should have been included in the Master final cut.

It remains to be seen whether there will be more Master deleted scenes that will come out in the days ahead considering there will always be extra footage that is shot during production and a majority of it gets cut down on the editing table. Post the release of Master, there have been many who have stated the film's run time to be a bit long and that it could have been a little crisp. Despite varied responses to Master's run time, the feedback for the film has been largely positive, with praises being showered on Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi for their electrifying performances, including director Lokesh Kanagaraj for crafting a screenplay that caters to their powerful on-screen chemistry and Anirudh Ravichander's chart-busters and thunderous background score.

Master has turned out to be a massive success not only for the makers and the entire team, but also theatre owners, who have breathed a big sigh of relief. The combined screen presence of Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi and their electrifying performances have elevated the film in a big way, with many going in for repeat viewings in theatres and on Amazon Prime Video. Master has turned out to be a perfect theatre celebration venture, with videos of fans enjoying the film on opening day still being watched by many on YouTube and other social networking forums.
