Producer Vishnu Vardhan Induri has officially announced a new feature film franchise titled Azad Hind and this franchise will be a tribute to the unsung heroes of the Indian Independence fight. Marking the 75th Year of Indian Independence, this franchise was officially announced today (August 15). The first film from the Azad hind franchise will bring to life the untold story of Veerangana Durgawati Devi, who was popularly known as Durga Bhabhi. Veerangana Durgawati Devi fought against the British Raj, inspiring legendary freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh and Chandrasekhar Azad. Durgawati was also referred to as 'The Agni of India' by British Secret Service Bureau MI 5.

Unlike other freedom fighters, after Indian Independence, Durgawati started living as a common citizen in anonymity. Durgawati started a school that offered education for the poor in Lucknow. A leading star actress is said to be in talks for playing the lead role in this biopic of Veerangana Durgawati Devi and an official announcement is expected to be made soon. Details regarding the director and the crew are yet to be known. Vishnu Vardhan Induri will be bankrolling this Azad Hind franchise under his banner of Vibri Media.

Vishnu Vardhan Induri is the producer of the Tamil film, Thalaivi, which is waiting for the theatres to reopen. Thalaivi is the biopic of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, J Jayalalitha and it is directed by Vijay of Deiva Thirumagal and Thalaivaa fame. Kangana Ranaut plays the lead role in Thalaivi, essaying Jayalalitha's character, while Arvind Swami will be seen playing the role of MGR. The film's star cast also features Nassar, Bhagyashree, Samuthirakani, Madhoo, Thambi Ramaiah, Poorna, Shanmugarajan, and others. The film has music scored by GV Prakash Kumar. Thalaivi has also been shot in Telugu and Hindi.
