Silambarasan TR’s next film, Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, marks the third-time collaboration for the multi-talented star with blockbuster director Gautham Menon after the duo previously worked on Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada. Being produced by Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh’s Vels Film International and featuring music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman, the second schedule of Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu has been wrapped, with the film’s executive producer Ashwin Kumar informing fans on Monday on the latest development. He has further revealed that the team will soon be heading next to Mumbai for the third schedule, while adding that Simbu has worked exceptionally hard in the action sequences, which will be a great visual treat.

Taking to Twitter, Ashwin Kumar wrote, "Exciting News is Here ! #VendhuThanindhathuKaadu 2nd Schedule Wrapped and 3rd Schedule to begin soon in Mumbai @SilambarasanTR_ has worked super duper hard in stunt sequences and it's gonna be a great treat to watch @menongautham @arrahman @IshariKGanesh @rajeevan69 @VelsFilmIntl." Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu has created a lot of buzz among fans, especially after STR’s look in the two posters released received a stellar response. Fans are particularly surprised that Gautham Menon is doing a film that is rooted on the grassroot level and is a step away from his usual stylish pattern focused on the upper class strata of the society. Check out the tweet below:

Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu will see STR sharing screen space with iconic veteran Tamil actress Radikaa Sarathkumar, including popular child artiste, Aangelina Abraham, best known for starring in the Netflix anthology drama Paava Kadhaigal. No announcement has come out yet on who has been cast as the female lead in the film after a few names were speculated to have been cast for the role. Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, which has its title taken from Mahakavi Bharathiyar's famous song, 'Agnikunjondru Kanden', also includes a talented technical team on board among whom are writer Jeyamohan for the film's story, followed by cinematographer Siddhartha Nuni, art director Rajeevan, editor Anthony, with Thamarai penning the lyrics and Gautham Menon's sister Uthara Menon as the costume designer.
