Silambarasan TR's Maanaadu is one of the most expected films of this year and it is expected to showcase STR in a never-before-seen dimension. The film is produced by Suresh Kamatchi and directed by Venkat Prabhu who is known for his fun filled mass action entertainers. Maanaadu is a film that has excited the fans ever since its announcement and the team has come a long way. Around 60 - 70 % of the shooting is completed and the makers are now gearing up for the next leg of the shoot. Producer Suresh Kamatchi took to his official Twitter page to share a video and in this video, we get to see a glimpse of the set making. Maanaadu is a political film and as the title suggests, the film will have a lot of political gathering/meeting sequences.

The political mass gathering meetings have been planned to be shot in a grand scale and the set works for the same has begun in full swing. We see the production unit setting things up at a vast empty ground and it looks like the political gathering sequences are going to be shot at this place. Sharing the video, producer Suresh Kamatchi wrote, "#STR in Political Entry... #Maanaadu Ground is Getting Ready..". The video has gone viral among STR's fans who are already excited about the project. The teaser of Maanaadu was released last month and it received an outstanding response from the fans and film buffs.

Venkat Prabhu did not reveal the story or premise through the teaser but gave us a little hint that time is going to play a crucial role in the film. The teaser did raise our curiosity and let us keep our fingers crossed and wait for the movie to release. Maanaadu will have STR playing the role of Abdul Khaaliq and it is going to be exciting to see him in a political film for the first time. Maanaadu features an ensemble star cast that includes the likes of Bharathiraja, SA Chandrasekhar, SJ Suryah, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaran, Daniel Annie Pope, Manoj Bharathiraja, Udhayaa, and others.
