The 39-year-old actor, who is a cousin of Action King Arjun Sarja, was one of the most popular and sought after actors in Sandalwood, with about 5-6 projects in hand, in various stages of production. Many South stars and celebrities have been posting their condolences over Chiranjeevi Sarja's death, on social media. Popular author, columnist and journalist Shobhaa De, has created quite a furore by mistakenly posting condolences for Tollywood Megastar Chiranjeevi, afte confusing him with Chiranjeevi Sarja!

Shobhaa De, who is well known for her books as well as for being vocal on social issues, stirred up the emotions of Tollywood fans by posting a photo of Megastar Chiru, along with the condolence message, "One more shining star... gone! Just like that...what a tragic loss! Condolences to the bereaved family members. @chirusarja (sic)" Many people from the Tollywood fraternity have taken offense and have asked "North Celebrities" to verify the facts before tweeting and to atleast search on Google to get their basic facts right! Fans of Megastar Chiranjeevi have been blasting Shobhaa De for such a blatant mistake. She has since taken down her tweet.
