Ace director Shankar's daughter Aditi Shankar will be making her debut in Tamil cinema as a lead actor with Karthi's Viruman which was officially announced yesterday (September 5). Last night, Suriya made a big announcement revealing that Karthi will be acting in a new film titled Viruman under the direction of Muthaiya of Komban and Kuttipuli fame. In a few hours after the announcement of the film, Suriya posted another tweet welcoming Aditi Shankar to Tamil cinema. Aditi will be playing the love interest of Karthi in this film which is touted to be an action packed family entertainer set against the rural backdrop.

Suriya's welcome tweet read, "A very warm welcome to Aditi Shankar! You are going to win everyone’s heart! God bless!! உன் வரவு நல்வரவு ஆகுக!! @AditiShankarofl #Viruman #விருமன்". Director Shankar thanked Suriya and Jyotika and the entire team of Viruman for giving her the opportunity to be a part of the film. Shankar also sought the support and blessings of the Tamil audience. Shankar's tweet read, "Thanks dear @Suriya_offl & Jyothika for launching @AditiShankarofl @2D_ENTPVTLTD which always delivers quality movies! Thanks to @Karthi_Offl @dir_muthaiya @thisisysr @rajsekarpandian I believe cinema lovers will shower her with love as she comes fully prepped to make her debut".

Shankar's elder daughter named Aishwarya Shankar got married recently (to Rohit Damodharan) and Aditi Shankar happens to be the younger one. The ace filmmaker also has a son. It is going to be exciting to see the young and talented Aditi share screen space with talented actors like Karthi, Prakash Raj, Rajkiran, Soori, and others. Produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainment, this film will have music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography handled by Selvakumar SK. Viruman is sched uled to release in theatres during the summer of 2022.
