The entire Tamil film fraternity including fans were in for a shock today morning when news of popular doctor and actor Sethu Raman's death was made official. Sethu Raman, aged 36, had suffered a massive cardiac arrest yesterday (March 26) at around 8.45PM and had garnered a following in the field of medicine for practicing dermatology while also launching his own skin clinic called Zi Clinic, a few years back. It was only sometime back when he also opened his third clinic on the East Coast Road (ECR) and his death due to cardiac arrest has left many in a state of sorrow and grief.

Known among fans for starring as the hero in the 2012 smash hit, Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya, alongside Santhanam and 'Power Star' Srinivasan, Dr. Sethu Raman went on to be seen in films like Vaaliba Raja, Sakka Podu Podu Raja and 50/50 in later years while he concentrated more on his profession as a dermatologist.

With condolences pouring in from all corners, there have been rumors popping up that Dr. Sethu Raman had died due to the dreaded Coronavirus that has taken several thousand lives around the world. Dr. Sethu Raman's death coinciding with the havoc being wreaked by the COVID - 19 virus has left many to speculate and circulate rumors, which has now been dispelled by close friend, Dr. Ashwin Vijay, a popular surgeon, who took to his Instagram page to pen an emotional note. In his statement, Dr. Ashwin Vijay makes it clear that Sethu Raman's death was not by getting affected by the coronavirus, but due to the cardiac arrest he had succumbed to.

Dr. Ashwin Vijay states, "My life will never be the same without you Sethu. The most painful day in my life. 30 years of friendship, brother hood, the vision we had for the world & youngsters, we decided to give this world ONLY goodness & happiness. When you left’ you took away a part of me which will remain empty forever. One small request for the people - HE PASSED AWAY bec OF CARDIAC ARREST & NOT CORONA, pls don’t spread rumours at this point."
