Lyca Productions had filed a case against director Shankar at the Madras High Court, requesting to ban the director from doing other films before completing Indian 2. This incident created a huge buzz among the film fraternity members. Lyca Productions placed several allegations against the ace filmmaker and in return. Shankar sent a reply notice, explaining his side of the story. The case came to hearing this morning (July 2). Honourable Justice N Satish Kumar, who looked into all the developments of the case in the last few months, dismissed all the applications filed by Lyca Productions against director Shankar.

The Judge also dismissed Lyca's application to furnish security to them. This judgement from the High Court will now officially allow Shankar to work on other projects, as per his wish.

Shankar will be teaming up with Telugu actor Ram Charan for an action entertainer which is currently in the post-production stages. This film will be a Telugu - Tamil bilingual and it will be produced by Dil Raju under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. The film has got huge expectations among the fans and it is expected to be an important film in Ram Charan's filmography. Post the completion of this film, Shankar will be working with Bollywood star Ranveer Singh on the Hindi remake of his blockbuster hit Tamil film, Anniyan. The Hindi remake of Anniyan will be produced by Pen Movies. While these projects are in the pipeline, the fans are also dearly hoping for Indian 2 to resume production.

Let us hope that director Shankar and Lyca Productions come to terms and complete the remaining works of Indian 2 which has got huge expectations among the film buffs. Indian 2 features Kamal Haasan in the lead role and the film will feature him playing the iconic Indian Thatha character. The film, which has music composed by Anirudh, features an ensemble star cast including Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, Nedumudi Venu, Vivekh, Bobby Simha, and others.
