The life story of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa is being made as a biopic film in Tamil, titled Thalaivi. Kangana Ranaut essays the titular character, while Arvind Swami will be seen playing the role of M.G.R. The film is directed by Vijay of Thalaivaa and Madharasapattinam fame and it has music scored by G.V.Prakash. Actress Madhoo of Roja fame will be seen playing a crucial role in the film and in a recent Instagram live interaction with Galatta Media, she shared a few interesting details about the film.

Madhoo said, “I am playing the character of Janaki Ramachandran, MGR’s wife in the film. It feels great to share screen space once again with my Roja co-star Arvind Swami. The film is being made in Tamil and Hindi. Kangana is speaking the dialogues all by herself and her Tamil pronunciations are so good.

Well, it looks like an interesting project is in the making. Produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri under the banner of Vibri Media, Thalaivi has screenplay penned by the legendary writer, Vijayendra Prasad. The film is scheduled to hit the screens on June 26, but considering the current pandemic situation, there are high chances that the film could be postponed to a different date.
