Director Mani Ratnam’s classic romantic drama, Alaipayuthey celebrated its 20th year anniversary recently and we had seen Madhavan and cinematographer P.C.Sreeram getting nostalgic about it. Following that, Maddy has now shared a sweet throwback incident during the filming of the song, ‘Kadhal Sadugudu’. He took to his Twitter profile to share that it was very challenging for him to sing (lip sync) the song and deliver the expressions in reverse pattern, as Mani Ratnam opted to choreograph the song in reverse.

He tweeted, “I still break into a sweat when I think of how I had to sing this song in reverse and give my expression in reverse to make the lip sync happen. That too in my FIRST film. Plus I have 16 left feet w.r.t Dancing”. In addition, Madhavan also clarified that the reverse choreography concept in Tamil was first executed by his Alaipayuthey team in 1999, and it wasn’t the ‘Neela Vaanam’ song from Kamal Haasan’s Manmadan Ambu.

Madhavan has two interesting projects in his kitty and one among those is his ambitious project, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, which is the biopic of ISRO scientist, Nambi Narayanan. Maddy will also be seen playing the protagonist in Maara, the Tamil remake of Dulquer Salmaan’s Charlie. Directed by Dhilip Kumar, this feel-good romantic drama features Shraddha Srinath as the female lead. Check out Maddy’s tweets about Alaipayuthey below:
