A film that is eagerly being awaited by fans across the country, K.G.F: Chapter 2 starring 'Rocking Star' Yash is the highly-anticipated sequel to the 2018 nationwide blockbuster, K. G. F: Chapter 1. The Kannada films helmed by director Prashanth Neel have been produced under the Hombale Films banner featuring music by Ravi Basrur, with fans currently awaiting an announcement on a new release date for the sequel as the pandemic had played a big spoilsport so far. With post-production works on KGF: Chapter 2 currently underway at a brisk pace, Hombale Films on Thursday unveiled a special birthday poster for Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt, who plays the antagonist in the upcoming film.
Snajay Dutt, whose character in KGF: Chapter 2, Adheera, was teased in the first installment, will be appearing in the film, with the latest poster showing the veteran superstar holding a huge sword amidst the backdrop of a battlefield giving us plenty of goosebumps on the massive action sequences fans can expect upon its theatrical release. Initially planned for an October 2019 release and then postponed due to the pandemic before the makers shifted it to a July 16 theatrical outing, fans currently are waiting for a new release date, which can be expected to be out in the days ahead. KGF: Chapter 2 is carrying unprecedented hype for a Kannada film as it will also be coming out in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu, with hopes high that the sequel will surge past the success of the first installment. It is to be noted that the sequel's Tamil distribution rights were acquired by leading production house Dream Warrior Pictures, with the film's trailer recently crossing 200 million views.
