Popular Telugu actor Kartikeya is celebrating his birthday today (September 21) and wishes have been pouring in from all quarters for the young star. Kartikeya has several interesting projects in his lineup and the highlight project among the lot happens to be Valimai, the Ajith Kumar starrer. Kartikeya will be seen playing the villain in Valimai and his faceoff against Ajith is going to be one of the exciting aspects of the film. Interestingly, the film will also mark Kartikeya's debut in Tamil cinema and he couldn't have asked for a better launchpad in Kollywood.

Marking his birthday, the makers of Valimai have now released a new picture from the film introducing the character of Kartikeya. The picture features Kartikeya holding a bottle of wine in one hand and a mobile phone in the other. Kartikeya looks stylish and it looks like he will be playing a techie-villain. Notably, this is the first picture of Kartikeya to be released and it has made the fans excited. Valimai is directed by H Vinoth who is known for his strong research-based stories. The film marks Vinoth's second association with Ajith after Nerkonda Paarvai. Valimai will feature Ajith playing a cop and he is said to have performed several high octane action sequences for the film.

Valimai features Kaala fame Huma Qureshi as the female lead, while the supporting cast includes Bani, Sumithra, Achyunth Kumar, Yogi Babu, Raj Ayyappa, Pugazh, and others. Produced by Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP, in association with Zee Studios, Valimai has music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja who has already delivered a chartbuster single in the form of 'Naanga Vera Maari'. The second single and the rest of the songs are expected to be released very soon. Valimai has cinematography by Nirav Shah, while the editing and art direction departments are headed by Vijay Velukutty and K Kadhir respectively.
