Director Ashwin Saravanan made heads turn among Tamil cinema fans in 2015 with his debut film, the horror thriller, Maya, starring Nayanthara, which went on to gain quite a lot of critical acclaim and was one among the several female-centric ventures the 'Lady Superstar' had begun with. Ashwin then came back with a bang last year with the psychological thriller Tamil-Hindi bilingual film, Game Over, starring Taapsee Pannu, which went on to become a critical as well box office success. That said, a film the up-and-coming director has been attached to is the long-delayed, Iravaakaalam, starring SJ Suryah in the lead role, which had an intense and dramatic trailer released in mid-2017.
