Earlier this morning it was revealed that director AV Arun Prasath (also known as Venkat Pakkar) passed away in a bike accident in Coimbatore. The news took the entire Kollywood industry by shock. Arun had finished shooting his debut directorial film, 4G starring G.V.Prakash Kumar, and was waiting for the film's release. Unfortunately, he won't be able to witness the release of his debut directorial film in the theatres now. Before making his debut as a director with 4G, Arun Prasath worked with ace director Shankar and assisted him in the Chiyaan Vikram starrer I.

Reacting to his death, director Shankar took to his Twitter page this evening to share his condolence message. Shankar, in his tweet, mentioned that Arun was a very positive and a hard working talent. "Heartbroken by the sudden demise of the young director and my ex-assistant, Arun. You were always sweet, positive and hardworking. My prayers are forever with you and my deepest condolences to your family and friends.🙏", Shankar tweeted.
