Dhanush-Karthik Subbaraj's D40 first look release announcement date

National Award-winning actor Dhanush had wrapped up filming his portions in the tentatively titled D40, under Karthik Subbaraj's direction last month. Producer S. Sashikanth is bankrolling the international gangster action thriller featuring music by Santhosh Narayanan under his Y Not Studios banner in association with Reliance Entertainment.

With the film gearing up for a grand summer release, Y Not Studios have now announced on their social networking pages that only three more days of shooting remain, which will commence on February 6 with plans to completely wrapped up the production on February 9. The esteemed production banner further informed fans that the D40 first look launch date will incidentally be announced on February 9 once the principal photography gets wrapped. The Dhanush-Karthik Subbaraj film was initially announced in 2016 after the release of the acclaimed filmmaker's Iraivi, but only rolled into production last year under the Y Not Studios banner. Although not much is known about the film apart from the fact that the story will reportedly be set in locations in and around Tamil Nadu and the United Kingdom, excitement for D40 has been massive; especially after Dhanush was spotted sporting the Madurai keda moustache. The film will also include actress Aishwarya Lekshmi playing the role of the female lead, Sanchana Natarajan, Kalaiayarasan and National Award-winning Malayalam actor Joju George among others in major starring roles.
