Dhanush's highly anticipated Jagame Thandhiram is all set for a direct digital release. Yes! As widely speculated by the media, the film will have its direct digital release on the Netflix streaming platform and the official announcement regarding that was made this moring (February 22). The additional surprise is that the makers have released the film's teaser as well and it has already gone viral among the fans. The teaser of Jagame Thandhiram has been released on Netflix India's official YouTube channel and it has been garnering wide attention from the worldwide audience, already. The film will be released in over 190 countries at the same time. The film's release date is yet to be officially announced and everyone is eagerly looking forward to the d-day.

Talking about the teaser, it shows us a glimpse of the film's lead protagonist, Suruli, played by Dhanush and he is introduced as a notorious guy. There is a certain kind of wackiness associated to the character and Dhanush fits the role perfectly. He aces the role and is highly impressive in this teaser and he is the main centre of attraction. Through the teaser, we get to see several gunshots and firing and it looks like the film is going to have a lot more of that. Jagame Thandhiram is touted to be an intense gangster drama and this new teaser has now hyped up the expectations among the audience. The film is directed by Karthik Subbaraj and it looks like the talented filmmaker is back to his strong zone. Karthik has packed the film neatly with a good mix of fun and action and the audience are going to have a blast, enjoying Dhanush's performance. 

While looking at the teaser, one cannot avoid the feeling of missing the theatrical experience and we will have to settle down for an OTT release. Had the film come out in the theatres, the fans would have celebrated the film in a grand manner and Jagame Thandhiram seems to be a solid theatrical film. There are enough high moments that are best enjoyed in the theatrical experience. However, we will now have to watch the film only on Netflix. 

The teaser shows us a glimpse of the other actors as well - Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, James Cosmo, Soundara Raja, Sharath Ravi, and others. Produced by Sashikanth under the banner of Y Not Studios, the film will have music scored by Santhosh Narayanan. The film's cinematography and editing departments are handled by Shreyaas Krishna and Vivek Harshan respectively.
