It is a standard practice in Tamil Nadu for one of the Government officials to hold a press meet every evening to release the official numbers of the COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus positive cases in the state. As per today's press meet held by State Minister Vijayabhaskar, TN has seen an increase of 38 new COVID positive cases in the past 24 hours, taking the total in the State to to 1242. Of these, 118 people have been marked as recovered, discharged or migrated and the total number of deaths due to this Virus has risen to 14!

Meanwhile, the Central Government has issued a list of districts which are being considered as hotspots in each of our states and Tamil Nadu has 22 such districts. The districts on this list include Chennai, Trichy, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Erode, Vellore, Madurai, Tuticorin, Kanyakumari, Virudhunagar, Dindigul, Villupuram, Tiruppur, Theni, Namakkal, Chengalpet, Cuddalore, Karur, Thiruvallur, Thiruvarur, Salem and Nagapattinam.
