A newly constructed Church set for the Malayalam film, Minnal Murali, has been destroyed and demolished into pieces by a certain section of people from the Hindu Right Wing groups. This vandalizing act from these racialists have not gone well with the makers of Minnal Murali. The film, which stars Tovino Thomas, Aju Varghese and Harisree Ashokan in the lead roles, is directed by Basil Joseph of Godha fame. Tovino shared this shocking piece of information last night on his social media platform.

Tovino revealed that his team had to pause the shooting due to the lockdown and the pandemic situation and was hoping to resume the shoot in the constructed Church set in a few days of time. However, it has all now been destroyed and it is also a huge loss indeed for the producer. Hearing this news, Kerala's Chief Minister, Pinrayi Vijayan assured that strict action would be taken against the people who were responsible for this inhumane act. Tovino's social media post reads, "Minnal Murali’s first schedule at Wayanad had been in progress when the set for the second schedule began construction at Kalady. It was carried out by art director Manu Jagad and team, under special instructions by stunt choreographer Vlad Rimburg.

For this, we had the rightful permissions from the concerned authorities.And as we were about to start shooting in this set – which was built on a considerable cost, the whole country went into lockdown, following which our shoot was paused, just like all others’. It is during this prevailing uncertainty that this contractual set was destroyed by a group of racialists yesterday. The reasons they cite for this unceremonious act are not understood to our senses till now.
