With Vijay being brought to Chennai a couple of days back by the Income Tax department for inquiry, the actor had missed out on shooting for Master at Neyveli. Post the long inquiry with Vijay, The I-T dept had yesterday issued a press release stating investigations on the star's immovable properties and the remuneration he had received for his previous film, Bigil, are still ongoing. In the midst of this, Vijay and his Master team are now facing a new roadblock as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) protestors have arrived at the shooting spot at the Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC).

BJP protestors have been questioning NLC officials as to how the Master team had acquired permission to shoot at the reserved and secure location stating only trained individuals can be allowed to enter the site. In response, Neyveli Lignite Corporation officials have stated the Master team had sought permission to carry their production from February 1-10 with the actors and technicians currently shooting eight kilometers from the site of where the protests are taking place.

Fans will know that this isn't the first time the BJP is protesting against a Vijay film after the superstar's 2017 blockbuster, Mersal, created quite a lot of controversy owing to a select few scenes and dialogues causing an ire among the party members and its cadres. Whether Master too will see such a serious turn of events, remains to be seen considering BJP protestors have turned up in numbers at the film's shooting spot.
