Bigg Boss has garnered a huge fan following across India among different languages ever since its inception in Hindi first  in 2006. The smash hit reality TV show has since transitioned to being aired across several states over the years in languages like Kannada, Malayalam Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Bangla versions, which have received a huge response as well. As Bigg Boss 14 hosted by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan came to a grand finish recently, popular actress Shehnaaz Gill, who appeared as a guest in the latest edition, had earlier participated as a contestant in Bigg Boss 13 in 2019-2020 and ended up coming in as the second runner-up.

A highly popular name among fans, Shehnaaz, who apart from her success in the Bigg Boss house, is also known for her appearances in a few films and music videos. Having said that, the Bigg Boss superstar in a recent interview spoke about the acid attack threats she has received, including coming across morphed videos of her on social media. Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Shehnaaz said the morphed videos have only fetched her sympathy, while adding that she hasn't been bothered by such actions. She has further stated that the people behind such acts do not realize that their negativity is not spreading, but rather only backfiring at them. Adding that such instances have turned into positivity for her as fans continue to love her more.

Shehnaaz also stated that she is not frightened by such threats or fake videos. She said in Hindi, "I want to congratulate those who are doing these things. It is not affecting me but I think it is getting me sympathy. People are loving me more." Shehnaaz added, "People do not realise that if they say something negative about someone, it turns into positivity for the person they are speaking badly about because they get sympathy."

On the work front, Shehnaaz Gill is at present waiting for the release of the music video of Shreya Ghoshal’s Habit, in which she will be seen with Sidharth Shukla, and rapper Badshah. Shehnaaz is now in Canada shooting for a film titled Honsla Rakh under Amarjit Singh Saron's direction, which also includes Diljit Dosanjh and Sonam Bajwa, with the venture being planned for a Dusshera release in October this year.
