Earlier this morning (April 27), popular Tamil filmmaker Thamira passed away due to Covid 19 complications and his unfortunate demise has shocked the entire Tamil film industry. He was 53 years old when he breathed his last. Thamira was known for his feel good emotional family dramas. He made his directorial debut with the film, Rettaisuzhi that starred veteran directors K Balachander and Bharathiraja in the lead roles. Later, Thamira directed Aan Devathai which featured Samuthirakani and Bigg Boss sensation Ramya Pandian in the lead roles. The film was appreciated by the critics for its interestingly written premise.

Having said that, Ramya Pandian took to her official Instagram page this morning to mourn the demise of her director. Ramya Pandian sounded very emotional and expressed her love and admiration for him. She also added that director Thamira's demise feels like a personal loss to her. Sharing throwback pictures that she had taken with him at the sets of Aan Devathai, Ramya Pandian wrote on her Instagram page, "I have always been a fan of Thamira sir's script writing abilities. His love and passion for Tamil has inspired many including me. More than it all what makes him special is the way he treated everyone around him. The entire cast and crew of Aan dhevadhai have always been treated with utmost respect. He would never miss a moment to appreciate talent and that too wholeheartedly. He has supported me and cared for me like one of his family members and this is a personal loss. Thank you sir for everything. You are missed very dearly. Deepest condolences to the family. #RIPThamira sir 😔".

On the acting front, Ramya Pandian will next be seen playing one of the leads in an untitled film, produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainment. Ramya Pandian will be sharing screen space with Vani Bhojan in this film, directed by debutant Arisil Moorthy. Ramya Pandian took part in the fourth season of Bigg Boss Tamil, which gave her a solid breakthrough in her career. With back to back success of Cook with Comali and Bigg Boss Tamil 4, things look bright and positive for Ramya Pandian.
