Actress Priya Bhavani Shankar has become one of the most popular names among the youth in Tamil Nadu of late, especially after her transition from television to cinema. Having made her Tamil cinema debut in 2017 with Meyaadha Maan opposite Vaibhav, the film turned out to be a box office success, with Priya subsequently landing roles in Karthi's Kadaikutty Singam, Monster opposite SJ Suryah, Arun Vijay’s Mafia: Chapter 1 and was last seen in the multi-starrer Kalathil Santhippom, which came out last month. Priya, who currently is a part of a few big projects, was also announced to be cast opposite Ashok Selvan in Trident Arts' tentatively titled Production No 8, with shooting on the untitled film coming to a wrap on Tuesday. 

Directed by Sathuram 2 fame Sumanth Radhakrishnan, Trident Arts shared a production wrap picture on Twitter with Ashok Selvan and the film's crew looking high in spirits. The upcoming venture with Ashok Selvan and Priya Bhavani Shankar will also include Nasser, Munishkanth, Kalakka Povathu Yaaru fame Yogi and Ravi Maria in vital supporting roles, with the technical crew featuring names like Bobo Sashi scoring the music, Praveen for the cinematography, editing by Rahul, art direction by Durairaj, while R. Murali Krishnan is serving as the executive producer. 

The yet-to-be-titled film was launched in December last, with production carrying forward at a steady pace as the industry was slowly getting back to its feet in resuming shooting, which took a major setback owing to the COVID-19 pandemic leading to all activities being brought to a complete halt. Apart from this new film, Ashok Selvan is currently awaiting the release of Mohanlal's historical epic war film Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, which will mark his debut in Malayalam, followed by Red Rum and Nenjamellam Kadhal in Tamil. The popular actor, who left a big impression in Oh My Kadavule last year, was recently seen playing the role of a chef in Ninnila Ninnila in Telugu opposite Nithya Menen and Ritu Varma, which also came in Tamil under the title Theeni on the Zee Plex streaming platform.

Similarly, Priya Bhavani Shankar has Atharvaa's Kuruthi Aattam, Oh Manapenne opposite Harish Kalyan, Bommai once again with SJ Suryah, including director Chimbu Deven's multi-starrer, Kasada Thapara, which will see her alongside Harish Kalyan, Premgi Amaren, Regina Cassandra, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Sundeep Kishan, Venkat Prabhu and Vijayalakshmi, Vaan with Dulquer Salmaan, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Kriti Kharbanda. She also has a big role in Silambarasan TR's Pathu Thala opposite Gautham Karthik and Kamal Haasan's Indian 2, which will see her sharing screen space Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, Samuthirakani among others.
