We have been witnessing a lot of notable biggies featuring leading stars skipping the theatrical release and having a direct OTT release due to the current circumstances. The latest film to join that list is the Anushka - Madhavan starrer Nishabdham. This supernatural thriller has been in the news for quite some time for the OTT release speculations and it has now been confirmed with an official announcement. The film will have a direct release on Prime Video platform and it has been scheduled to release on October 2 on account of Gandhi Jayanthi.

However, like the previous ventures of Prime Video, we can expect Nishabdham also to stream from 10 PM on October 1. Nishabdham has been made as a bilingual in Tamil and the Tamil version is called Silence. The film will also have a dubbed release in Malayalam. It has been quite a while since the fans saw Anushka and hence the expectations on this film is high. Anushka's last release was Bhaagamathie and it has been close to three years since fans saw her film. Nishabdham - Silence is directed by Hemant Madhukar and produced by Kona Venkat's Kona Film Corporation in association with TG Vishwa Prasad's People Media Factory.

While Anushka and Madhavan would be seen playing the leads, the film's supporting cast includes Anjali, Shalini Pandey, Subbaraju, Srinivas Avasarala and others. Kill Bill fame Hollywood actor Michael Madsen also plays a crucial role in this thriller. On the technical front, Nishabdham has cinematography by Shaneil Deo and editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao. The film's songs are composed by Gopi Sundar while the background score is taken care of by Girishh G of Aval fame.

Nishabdham was a film made for the theatrical experience and it promised a lot of thrills, but due to the pandemic, we will have to watch it on our small screens. It is indeed going to be interesting to see how the film is received by the audience. The film's teaser which was released a few months before received a very good reception from the fans and showed great promise.
