Leading Tamil actress Trisha Krishnan has reacted to her Leo co-star Mansoor Ali Khan's cryptic apology for the derogatory comments he made last week during a press meet. Taking to social media on Friday, November 24, she posted a saying from English poet Alexander Pope's poem 'An Essay on Criticism' that hints at forgiveness and recognizes the nature of a human being to make mistakes. Trisha wrote on X, "To err is human,to forgive is divine🙏🏻" (sic), after Mansoor Ali Khan apologized for his remarks in a detailed statement earlier in the day.

Trisha's statement comes at a time when many on social media found Mansoor Ali Khan's apology today to be lacking sincerity and condescending. Yesterday, Mansoor Ali Khan appeared before the police at the All Women Police Station at Thousand Lights in Chennai after he was issued a summons in regard to his recent remarks. During a press meet last week, the actor expressed his regret for not having a "bedroom scene" with Trisha, while going on to mention his involvement in numerous "rape scenes" in the past. Soon after Mansoor Ali Khan's comments were brought to the attention of Trisha, she wrote on X, "A recent video has come to my notice where Mr.Mansoor Ali Khan has spoken about me in a vile and disgusting manner.I strongly condemn this and find it sexist,disrespectful,misogynistic,repulsive and in bad taste.He can keep wishing but I am grateful never to have shared screen space with someone as pathetic as him and I will make sure it never happens for the rest of my film career as well. People like him bring a bad name to mankind." (sic) Later, the Nadigar Sangam (The South Indian Artistes Association) condemned Mansoor Ali Khan for his comments, with the National Commission for Women (NCW) also directing the Tamil Nadu police to invoke IPC Section 509 B and other relevant laws against him.
