The wait has come to an end as the much-awaited Kantara - A Legend: Chapter 1 as the film's first glimpse is now out in the form of a special promo teaser. The team of the highly-anticipated Kannada film unveiled the poster on Monday, November 27, which showcases actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty returning as the director, while also starring once again in the lead role in the upcoming prequel to the blockbuster Kantara (2022), which grossed more than 400 crores in worldwide box office collections. Releasing in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali, and English languages, the Kantara: Chapter 1 first look teaser is intriguing from start to finish and gives fans a glimpse at what awaits them in cinemas.
The Kantara: Chapter 1 first look teaser starts off introducing Rishab Shetty running frantically inside a forest with a fire torch before coming to a stop when he notices being surrounded by fire on the ground. We then hear a loud voice saying, "Light. Everything is visible in light. But, this is just not light." As Rishab then looks at the moon in the sky above him, the voice continues saying, "It's vision. Vision that shows us what is, what was, and what will be tomorrow. Can you see it?" The Kantara: Chapter 1 first look teaser then goes on to show Rishab undergoing a transformation appearing like an Aghori, with twinkling eyes, a thick beard, and long hair, while covered in blood stains.
There has been quite a lot of excitement surrounding Kantara: Chapter 1 ever since it was revealed that the film would be a prequel. The work on the Kantara prequel was first officially announced back in March when the team revealed on the auspicious occasion of Ugadi that the writing on the project had commenced. They wrote on X, "On this auspicious occasion of Ugadi & New Year, we are delighted to announce that the writing for the second part of #Kantara has begun. We can't wait to bring you another captivating story that showcases our relationship with nature. Stay tuned for more updates." (sic) Expectations for Rishab Shetty's Kantara: Chapter 1 have been massive right from the get-go considering Kantara went on to become the second highest-grossing Kannada film of all time behind Yash's K.G.F: Chapter 2 (2022) directed by Prashanth Neel.
