Tamil actor Jiiva dropped a big surprise for 'Superstar' Rajinikanth's fans everywhere on Thursday, February 29, by posting pictures and a video of his "legendary encounter" with the iconic star while en route to Hyderabad to take part in the upcoming Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) match between the Chennai Rhinos and the Bhojpuri Dabanggs on March 1. Sharing his excitement on Instagram, the Kalakalappu 2 star wrote, "Flying high with The Superstar Rajnikanth sir! 🌟✈️ #LegendaryEncounter #FlightWithIcons” #deaffrogs #chennairhinos #ccl #march1st #jiiva" (sic)
While Jiiva and his Chennai Rhinos teammates will be playing their next CCL match in Hyderabad, Rajinikanth is in the city for the shooting of his next big film, Vettaiyan, being directed by TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim fame (2021). The Chennai Rhinos Instagram page too has posted a photo of the team's players posing with Rajinikanth, who has also wished them the best for their future matches in the tournament. The team wrote in their caption: "THALAIVAR BLESSINGS DESCEND UPON THE CHENNAI RHINOS! Our warriors, the Chennai Rhinos, were graced by the almighty presence of the one and only SUPERSTAR RAJINIKANTH on their flight! Energized by this legendary encounter, the team is ready to conquer the field and bring home the victory!" (sic)
'Superstar' Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan has been progressing at a steady pace and is gearing up for a grand worldwide release in cinemas this year. The film is a multi-starrer and also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Kishore, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, among others in pivotal roles, with the music being composed by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander. Rajinikanth will also be joining hands with Lokesh Kanagaraj for the tentatively titled Thalaivar 171 after he wraps up Vettaiyan. Jiiva, on the other hand, was recently seen in the Telugu political biopic film Yatra 2, which saw him play the current Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy alongside iconic Malayalam superstar Mammootty, who portrayed the late Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy. Jiiva will next be seen in Methavi, which has him sharing screen space with Arjun and Raashi Khanna under lyricist-turned-filmmaker Pa. Vijay's direction.
