Cobra starring Chiyaan Vikram in the lead role, is an upcoming Tamil film that has got very good expectations among the fans. Directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu of Demonte Colony and Imaikkaa Nodigal fame, Cobra has music scored by A.R.Rahman. This action thriller will feature Vikram in different makeovers and we saw a glimpse of it in the intriguing first look poster. Produced by Lalit Kumar's Seven Screen Studio, Cobra has cinematography by debutant Harish Kannan and editing by Bhuvan Srinvasan.

A few months back, the team had to stop the shoot midway at Russia and return to India as the Coronavirus situation was starting to get worse. As we all know, the entire industry is badly affected by the current situation and it is going to take quite some time to bounce back strongly. Having said that, a section of media had reported that the makers of Cobra are planning to shoot the remaining Russia portions in a studio setup in Chennai, using a green matte. It was said that the makers have opted for this plan due to budget related issues.

However, director Ajay Gnanamuthu vehemently denied the news and clarified that there's no truth to it. He kept the tweet very short and replied, "No!! Not possible". The immediate response from Ajay has helped in stopping the rumours from wide speculations. So, it looks like the team of Cobra will once again travel back to Russia to finish the remaining portions, after everything settles down. Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan will be making his debut as an actor with this film and he is said to play the role of an antagonist.
