A film that has been at the top of the watch-list ever since its announcement in 2020, Kamal Haasan's Vikram kicked off full-fledged active production last week. The actor-politician was joined by the film's director Lokesh Kanagaraj, including 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi at the shoot, which began after a formal pooja. Being produced by Kamal under his Raaj Kamal Films International banner, Vikram has created massive curiosity among fans for its casting as it also has leading Malayalam hero Fahadh Faasil cast in a pivotal role, who has now officially joined the film's shooting, with the actor posting a selfie with Kamal Haasan on his Facebook page.

Fahadh Faasil's inclusion in Vikram is being termed huge considering the Malayalam actor has a big fan following among Tamil cinema lovers, especially after his performances in films like Bangalore Days, Maheshinte Prathikaaram, Kumbalangi Nights, Trance, Joji and most recently, Malik, which as well has received a tremendous response. Fahadh, who has also been seen in Tamil films like Sivakarthikeyan's Velaikkaran and Vijay Sethupathi's Super Deluxe, had earlier won a National Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum in 2017 and that has increased the hype among fans, who have been gushing about waiting to witness his magic on the big screen alongside Kamal in Vikram. Apart from the seismic cast in Vikram, expectations for the upcoming film touted to be an intense action thriller are colossal as it will also see Lokesh Kanagaraj finally directing his idol Kamal Haasan. Lokesh Kanagaraj has had a stunning career in Tamil cinema after a solid debut in 2017 with his Maanagaram, which he followed up with the action thriller Kaithi starring Karthi and then reaching new heights earlier this year with the 'Thalapathy' Vijay-starrer Master. Vikram also includes a stellar technical team featuring 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander for the music, who will be looking forward to hitting the high note for Kamal Haasan as well. Other notable technical talents on board Vikram are cinematographer Girish Gangadharan, the National Award-winning stunt choreographer duo Anbariv taking care of the action and Meyaadha Maan and Aadai director Rathna Kumar, who will be penning the dialogues in the film.
