Director A. Sarkunam has established himself to be a credible filmmaker over the years having won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award twice starting with his directorial debut, Kalavani, in 2010 and followed it up once again with Vaagai Sooda Vaa in 2011, which incidentally also went on to fetch him the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil. Since then, Sarkunam has made Naiyaandi with Dhanush, Chandi Veeran with Atharvaa and Kalavani 2, earlier this year with Vemal and Oviya reprising their roles from the smash hit, Kalavani. With Kalavani 2 turning out to have a decent run at the box office, sources close to us have now revealed that Sarkunam and Vemal are set to team up for the fourth time after Kalavani, Vaagai Sooda Vaa and Kalavani 2. 

Vemal and Sarkunam will be looking forward to hit the bullseye once again in their third association and an official announcement regarding their project is expected to be made in the days ahead. Details regarding the producer(s)/production house, heroine, music director, the additional cast and crew will also be made known soon. As for his upcoming films, Vemal will next be seen in Kanni Raasi opposite Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and also alongside Shriya Saran in Sandakkari.
