'Thalapathy' Vijay's Leo directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj is currently in the post-production stages after wrapping up filming in July. Produced by S. S. Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studio banner and featuring music composed by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander, there's been a big chatter about the upcoming film's audio launch being held in a foreign location, with the event date and venue details yet to be officially announced. As the talk on social media regarding the Leo audio launch continues to gain steam, popular Tamil film producer-distributor G. Dhananjeyan recently sat down with Galatta to explain why the event will not be held in a foreign location as assumed by many.
Speaking about the Leo audio launch plans, Dhananjeyan said, "Many people are saying it will be held in a foreign location. I won't agree with that statement because Vijay sir's next phase is going to be different. He has plans to enter politics. And, there's a possibility of him restricting the number of films he does going forward. As of now, he's doing two films in a year, which will come down. If he enters politics, he will have to allocate at least 200 days for those commitments. So, for him to do two films in a year is not going to be possible. It's almost guaranteed that he will be entering politics." He continued, "As for the Leo audio launch being held in a foreign location, what I personally feel is, from his point of view, he's not going to benefit from it in any way. What benefit is there in organizing the event in Dubai or Malaysia? The people there are not going to vote for him."
Leo is scheduled to open in theatres worldwide on October 19 and the buzz for the film has been massive ever since it was announced that Vijay, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Anirudh were reuniting for the second time after their Master (2021) turned out to be a box office success. The upcoming film also stars Trisha as the female lead, while Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt is the antagonist, followed by 'Action King' Arjun, Mysskin, Gautham Menon, Priya Anand, Sandy master, Mathew Thomas among others making appearances in crucial roles.
