Beast marks Pooja Hegde's comeback to Tamil cinema after she made her debut a decade back in 2012 in director Mysskin's superhero thriller, Mugamoodi, opposite Jiiva. The actress has become a sensation across South India in the last few years after starring in several notable Telugu films, while tasting blockbuster success in Allu Arjun's Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Beast is no doubt a big turnaround for Pooja as it will see her sharing screen space and shaking her feet alongside Vijay and their pairing is expected to be yet another major USP as the film nears its release, which is expected to be sometime early next year.

Being directed by Nelson Dilipkumar of Kolamaavu Kokila and the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Doctor (yet to release), Thalapathy Vijay's Beast is being produced by the prestigious Sun Pictures banner, with music by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander. The upcoming film is touted to be an intense mass action entertainer, with rumours and speculations already rife on social media stating that the plot is centered around a hostage crisis. Expectations for Beast have been massive right from the moment the film was announced late last year, with the first look posters unveiled on Vijay's birthday receiving a phenomenal response from fans everywhere. Apart from Vijay and Pooja Hegde, the film's star cast also includes ace Tamil director Selvaraghavan playing a pivotal part, with Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Malayalam actors Shine Tom Chacko and Aparna Das and, Liliput Faruqui and Ankur Ajit Vikal cast in supporting roles.
