The much-awaited Lal Salaam release date announcement is now out and the sports action-drama film will now open in cinemas on February 9. The makers revealed the big news on Tuesday, January 9, in a new poster, with the film featuring 'Superstar' Rajinikanth in a special appearance under his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth's direction. This latest Lal Salaam release date announcement has come after the film was initially revealed to be coming to the big screens on January 12 as a Pongal release, with those plans undergoing a change owing to the post-production works.

The Lal Salaam release date announcement has come after weeks of speculation on social media, with the latest update coming as a big joyous news to 'Superstar' fans, who will be looking to witness him on the big screen next month. There is considerable excitement surrounding the film, especially after an action-packed teaser released on Diwali, including a fiery glimpse on Rajinikanth's birthday in December last year received thunderous feedback from all quarters. Lal Salaam will incidentally serve as a precursor to Rajinikanth's fans as his Vettaiyan is currently in production, while the actor is also scheduled to begin filming the tentatively titled Thalaivar 171 in the months ahead.
Lal Salaam is Aishwarya Rajinikanth's big comeback to filmmaking after 3 (2012), Vai Raja Vai (2015), and the documentary Cinema Veeran (2017), and has Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead roles, and features music composed by Academy Award winner A. R. Rahman. Considering the film revolves around cricket, 1983 World Cup-winning captain and legendary Indian cricketer Kapil Dev will also be seen making a cameo appearance alongside Rajinikanth.
