Sivakarthikeyan's next film, Don, kicked off production in February this year in Coimbatore after a formal pooja, with the cast and crew shooting in line with the COVID-19 norms and protocols. Touted to be a fun entertainer in the backdrop of a college, the team began production at the KPR College in Coimbatore, with the first schedule wrapping up prior to the lockdown coming into effect. Don will mark the directorial debut of Cibi Chakravarthi, a former associate of Atlee, and is being produced by Lyca Productions in association with SK Productions, with music by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander. 

Don, which has Sivakarthikeyan paired opposite youth sensation Priyanka Arul Mohan, also features names like SJ Suryah, Samuthirakani, Soori, Bala Saravanan, Munishkanth Ramadoss, RJ Vijay, including Cooku with Comali and Super Singer fame Sivaangi in pivotal roles. As production on Don is progressing at a brisk pace, new shooting spot pictures of Sivakarthikeyan with Priyanka Arul Mohan, Sivaangi, Bala Saravanan and RJ Vijay have now gone viral on social media. Sivakarthikeyans's Don incidentally is also the second time the actor-producer is paired opposite Priyanka Mohan after their Doctor under Nelson Dilipkumar's direction, which is awaiting its release since it was postponed due to the pandemic. Apart from the youthful cast in Don, the film also has Anirudh as a big USP for the music as his collaboration with Sivakarthikeyan has turned out to be successful in the past. Likewise, Don has cinematography by Vallinam and Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal fame KM Bhaskaran, with editing by Nagooran and Anu Parthasarathy coming on board as the costume designer after previously working in Sivakarthikeyan's Remo, Velaikkaran and Seema Raja.
